Tonya is a Veteran of the United States military who served in the Army's Signal Corp. During her service, she worked with LAN/WAN, communications, web design, and more. After Tonya's service, she pursued and obtained her Associate's Degree in HIT, followed shortly by a Bachelor's in Psychology from Georgia State University.

Shortly after graduating, Tonya joined Priority, where she started in a customer service role, helping process rental assistance payments for tenants. Within a couple of years, Tonya transitioned to the Quality Assurance and Workforce Management team, where she has been for about four years.
